From anti-globalization harangues to treating sex on campus as
anthropological research, some courses taught in North Carolina colleges make a mockery of education. On the other hand, you can find elevating courses throughout the state - sound economics, Shakespeare, rigorous analysis of history, to mention just a few.
In the past, the Pope Center's "Course of the Month" identified courses of the first kind. We have stopped the regular description of such courses. The last "Course of the Month" was published in March. We continue to keep an eye out for them and will write about them at appropriate times.
In the future, we will also identify courses worthy of attending and emulating -- perhaps even the "best course of the month." Our plan for doing so is "under construction," however. In the meantime, to see incisive course criticisms by Jon Sanders, look at the archives on this page.
